Putting My Experience
to Work

LEADERSHIP,  INTEGRITY, and RIGHTS

My name is Gregg Lindner, and I am a Democrat running for District 4 House of Representatives. With a background spanning leadership in the business community, elected office, and volunteer work, I believe I possess the necessary experience and skills to effectively represent our district within the legislature. There are a diverse range of topics within our community and state, and they need to be addressed to move the community forward.

Background and Values

It all starts with family and friends. My wife Kathy and I feel very fortunate to have five fantastic young adults, scattered from Philadelphia to Seattle. We cherish the times we can gather here in Millsboro at the home base. Before that, we lived in Wilmington and Delaware County PA.

I grew up in a very modest background, with parents who wanted their children to have educational opportunities that they never had, to help unlock opportunities. With that encouragement, I have two degrees from the University of Maryland, with a graduate degree in Quantitative Analysis. The graduate degree was made possible by the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration’s Sea Grant program. This educational opportunity introduced me to the environmental significance of the bay and underscored its importance to the livelihoods of those who depend upon it.

It equipped me with the tools for a successful career and instilled in me the desire to pay forward the opportunities I received because of the investment made in me with a government grant.

Community Engagement

My family taught me the importance of giving back to the community. A couple of specifics:

The first was being elected for two terms on the Unionville Chadds Ford school district which goes across Delaware and Chester Counties, PA. For two years I served as VP of the board and for the majority I led the board committee on facilities. My focus on the board was to ensure we pursued high educational attainment, openness, and inclusiveness for community discussion, supporting the importance of mental well-being, and financial responsibility.

Additionally, I spent over fifteen years involved in community recreational sports programs.

Outside of that, I have sat on various business and community boards, including one for the community in which Kathy and I currently live.

Professional Experience

Recently, I transitioned into semi-retirement from my role as the President of a division within a major international business, overseeing approximately 1000 employees. Concurrently, I served as the executive chairman of a successful joint media and marketing venture. Through these roles, I honed my ability to collaborate within teams and to identify economically feasible solutions to challenges. Success, whether in private business or elected office, stems from recognizing the value of collaboration and diverse skill sets within teams. It's never solely about one person; success is inherently tied to effective teamwork.

Key Views

I believe that your representative must focus on policies that will drive benefits to the entire community. Some policies are about the rights of our community. Other policies require a focus on investments in the community. Investments require choices to ensure we stay within budgets. Those are lessons from both a business and elected position background.

Some examples of policies that our district and region deserve include:

  • Increased state involvement in infrastructure and population density.

  • Public education funded at levels that ensure all children have access to educational experiences that enable them to reach their full potential and contribute to society.

  • Support efforts for safe and affordable housing. This is an essential building block for our community.

  • Support for a woman's right to make her own decisions regarding reproductive health care.

  • Restore Delaware early voting and absentee voting to 2022 status ASAP.

Vision for the District

As our community continues to evolve, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. I believe that growth and change should be a positive force for our community, and I am committed to contributing to thoughtful progress. Together, we can work towards creating a vibrant and inclusive community that we can all be proud of.

I will be actively engaging with the community over the next several months to carefully listen to your concerns and issues. Join me as we move the community forward.

Thank you,

Gregg
